Position Summary: Incumbent is responsible for management functions related to the delivery of patient care, as well as the quality of nursing practice and the standards of care in the Neuro Science Clinic. Supervises and directs staff and functions in the unit while maintaining clinical nursing practice skills and unit specific expertise. Specific duties include managing human resources, directing patient care activities, monitoring unit budgets and participating on departmental and medical center wide performance improvement projects. Serves as a role model and clinical resource to colleagues, staff, patients and others.

Requirements

  • Understanding of Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Strong customer service orientation as well as written and oral communication skills
  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Minimum 3 years experience as a nurse
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise and motivate staff through prior lead or supervisory experience
  • Complete understanding of acuity levels for the patient population
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • All external candidates must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to maintain flexibility and work well in a fast paced, constantly changing environment
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization
