About The Position

Join WakeMed’s Cary Cardiology team as a Temporary Ambulatory Care Nurse (RN) and make a direct impact on the care and experience of our patients. In this role, you’ll provide hands-on nursing care, help coordinate individualized plans of care, and serve as an important connection between patients, families, providers, and the interdisciplinary care team. This is a temporary assignment of three months, making it a great opportunity to bring your expertise to WakeMed while supporting an immediate need within our Cary Cardiology practices.

Requirements

Registered Nurse with the appropriate current NC RN licensure for the position.
Strong IV skills are a must.
Experience performing wound care assessments.
An RN who thrives in a fast-paced, high-visibility clinical environment and can confidently manage changing priorities.
A collaborative, team-oriented approach with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong clinical judgment, assessment, critical-thinking, and organizational skills.
A passion for delivering safe, compassionate, and patient-centered care.
Availability to support our Cary Cardiology team for a temporary assignment of at minimum of three months.

Nice To Haves

Previous cardiology RN experience is preferred but not required.
Previous EPIC experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care to patients in an ambulatory cardiology setting.
Perform comprehensive nursing assessments, including wound care assessments, and identify patient needs and appropriate interventions.
Utilize strong IV skills to support patient care and treatment needs.
Work collaboratively with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate care.
Identify patients who may benefit from additional care management support and help coordinate resources based on their individual needs.
Serve as an advocate for patients and families throughout their care experience.
Provide patient and family education to promote understanding, engagement, and successful management of care outside the clinic.
Serve as a communication link between patients, families, providers, the interdisciplinary team, and appropriate community resources.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and care coordination accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record.
Support professional nursing standards and best practices within the ambulatory care environment.
