Under the general supervision of the Manager, this role involves independent work and primary responsibility for supervising mid-level and administrative support staff. The Supervisor will oversee the operational, human resource, administrative, and business functions of the Pulmonary Practices, Lung health, and Sleep Disorders and Sleep labs. Key abilities include performing and prioritizing multiple tasks, and working effectively with staff, patients, and providers. A high degree of independence, initiative, assertiveness, and diplomacy are necessary for managing faculty, staff, and patients in a complex environment. The Supervisor will manage mid-level and administrative support staff, including MA and PC staff from Adult Sleep lab, Ped Sleep Lab, Sleep Disorders Center, Pulmonary Department and MZ, Pulmonary Fellows Program, Pulmonary Rehab and Pulmonary Function lab at MZ, and will also support Providers within these departments. Additionally, the Supervisor will act as an analyst to the Manager. The UCSF Pulmonary Division encompasses Pulmonary, ILD, and Sleep clinics, which are high-volume adult clinics addressing various pulmonary and sleep disorder conditions. Services include office visits, RN triage, airway clearance teaching, sleep tests, pulmonary rehab, pulmonary functions, injections, sputum induction, and Pentamidine.
