About The Position

The Ambassador serves 15 hours or less each week in a defined area by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to fulfill the FCA Vision, pursue the FCA Mission and live the FCA Values. In the FCA Sports Environment(s), the Ambassador implements a consistent approach to discipleship -- making disciples who make disciples. The Ambassador is accountable for ensuring that the FCA ministry is conducted according to biblical standards and adheres to FCA policies and procedures. As an ambassador, you’ll work closely with our FCA staff to grow our campus impact through discipleship, outreach, huddles, and spiritual development. You’ll become a vital part of our ministry team, actively engaging with student-athletes and campus life while being spiritually invested in and trained.

Responsibilities

  • Serve 15 hours or less each week in a defined area by engaging, equipping and empowering coaches and athletes to fulfill the FCA Vision, pursue the FCA Mission and live the FCA Values.
  • Implement a consistent approach to discipleship in FCA Sports Environments, making disciples who make disciples.
  • Ensure FCA ministry is conducted according to biblical standards and adheres to FCA policies and procedures.
  • Agree with, and abide by, FCA's Christian Community Statement.
  • Follow a spiritual rhythm including daily prayer and Bible study to seek the Lord's will for FCA.
  • Lead, conduct and provide spiritual leadership for staff, volunteers, coaches and athletes through prayer, Bible study, worship and living by example so they are equipped to serve others.
  • Connect to and participate in a local church through worship and weekly involvement.
  • Conduct yourself in a manner that affirms biblical standards of conduct in accordance with FCA's Christian beliefs at all times.
  • Engage, equip, and empower coaches, athletes and volunteers by ministering through 1-on-1s, Huddles and Events.
  • Work alongside the supervisor to train and equip volunteers to empower coaches and athletes to be disciples who make disciples.
  • Work alongside the supervisor to recruit, train and develop a diverse group of volunteers in assigned Sports Environment(s) with the purpose of leading every coach and athlete into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ and His church.
  • Engage in support raising by connecting, communicating and caring for donors with appropriate training (as requested by supervisor).
  • Serve the aligned International Region by praying, giving, and going (with supervisor).
  • Gain firsthand experience in the daily operations of FCA ministry and become an active part of FCA huddles.
  • Deepen understanding of ministry while discerning personal calling through hands-on leadership, mentorship, and training.
  • Help expand FCA’s reach at local area huddles by exploring and implementing new ministry initiatives and outreach opportunities.
  • Participate in all aspects of campus ministry: Attend and help lead weekly FCA huddles and small group Bible studies.
  • Connect with new student-athletes and foster intentional relationships.
  • Engage in discipleship, both giving and receiving.
  • Assist with administrative and organizational tasks.
  • Lead and organize monthly outreach opportunities to serve the Pueblo community.
  • Help mobilize students to support local high school FCA huddles through speaking or attending.
  • Receive training through a condensed version of FCA’s E3 and Discipleship training, as well as spiritual formation content.
  • Be discipled by one of the FCA staff members and in turn disciple students within local area huddles.
