Ambassador-Traffic Controller
About The Position
This role involves directing traffic safely and efficiently, using hand signals, flags, or other signals to guide vehicles and pedestrians through construction sites or around road closures. The Ambassador-Traffic Controller must be vigilant and aware of potential hazards, ensuring drivers and pedestrians follow safety protocols and take appropriate precautions to prevent accidents. Effective communication with drivers, pedestrians, and other workers is essential. Responsibilities may include setting up cones, barriers, and other traffic control devices, ensuring their visibility, and monitoring traffic flow to identify and address potential problems or bottlenecks. Adherence to all safety protocols and regulations is mandatory.
Requirements
- Must be 18 or older to apply
- Ability to pass a criminal background check
- Ability to effectively communicate, read, and write in English
- Ability to sit for extended periods and the ability to walk short distances
- Ability to operate a computer and cash register
- Ability to count money and make change if necessary
- Be able and willing to smile during every customer interaction
- Maintain uniform standards
- Maintain a professional and polite manner
- Adheres to VPNE’s attendance policy
Nice To Haves
- DOT Traffic or Crowd Control Certification preferred
