About The Position

The AM Pump Lead will provide day-to-day assistance to the Department Supervisor with leadership and management of shift employees. As lead, they will assist in establishing means and methods to ensure all employees perform job functions correctly and safely, and that department expectations are met with adherence to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Calibrates slicer to the correct specifications and maintains specific cook-range temperatures.
  • Must understand, follow, support and assure compliance to Daily’s Safety policies.
  • Must understand, follow, support, and assure compliance to Daily’s Quality Management System policies.
  • Assists in training and supporting employees working on the line.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and implement instructions listed on work order.
  • Must understand, follow, and enforce all food safety guidelines.
  • Must be able to successfully work alongside of and with production workers.
  • Must have an excellent attendance record.
  • Must be able to read and understand documents in English. Bi-lingual or currently enrolled in ESL.
  • Held Cook position.
  • Autonomous Maintenance (Past projects or currently enrolled)
  • Must not have any company disciplinary write ups within the last 12 months.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations and perform necessary calculations for completion of departmental paperwork.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Have the ability to make decisions on routine matters utilizing company policies and procedures and directions from upper management.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma preferred.
  • High school diploma, general education degree (GED) or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Two to five years production experience preferred; preferably in pork industry.
  • Bilingual is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up line and equipment needed for production. Report any problems with equipment to supervisor or maintenance.
  • Feed bacon into slicer, miscellaneous cleaning and trash removal.
  • Ensure product is within correct specifications, stop production if it’s not correct.
  • Ability to operate a forklift/pallet jack.
  • In absence of supervisor, will direct, instruct and provide feedback to employees including communicating any changes in policies or procedures as needed.
  • Ensure all new hires are trained properly and existing employees perform their jobs safely, correctly, and with the highest level of quality and ability.
  • Coordinate all new employee activities and training relative to shift.
  • Assists with the day-to-day leadership and management for production employees within department.
  • In the absence of the supervisor, record employee hours, attendance, and notify supervisor of any concerns. Additionally ensure that all weekly and daily reports are turned in timely and accurately.
  • Follow up with staff and on daily processes when and where assigned.
  • Perform personnel administration for paperwork, planning, and production analysis.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and hold others accountable.
  • Ensure monitoring and prescribed checks of all operating equipment are carried out as required for proper operation.
  • Maintain proper records, logs of activities, operating conditions and down time.
  • Understand, support and help implement/maintain the Quality Management System (QMS), Operating Policies, and Daily’s safety programs.
