Responsible for the overall success of the team and department with the day-to-day emphasis leveraging product line equipment expertise to efficiently and effectively manage line employees to accurately produce orders in accordance with product specifications. Ensure ongoing quality and safety requirements, line training and coaching for optimal line performance and employ fulfillment. Operational expertise developments in both products and equipment for exceptional yields throughout line runs and change overs.

Requirements

  • High School Education / G.E.D. preferred or applicable certification
  • Working knowledge of basic produce standards, and customer fresh wrap specifications preferred
  • Possess verbal and written communication skills
  • Must have a working knowledge of English language
  • Basic Mathematical abilities
  • Ability to train staff on safety requirements and enforce safety requirements
  • Required to stand for long periods
  • Frequently performs continuous repetitive hand motion
  • Use of hands for simple, firm grasping
  • Frequently bending, stooping and reaching
  • Frequently lifting, carrying products 5 pounds to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally to frequently lifting, carrying products 5 pounds to 50 pounds
  • Occasionally to frequently pushing, pulling and walking
  • Constant exposure to a temperature of 45 degrees or less
  • Exposure to chemical such as chlorine, etc.
  • Constant exposure to product fumes such as onions, pepper, etc.
  • Use of small to large cutting utensils, (i.e. Knives, peelers)
  • Works overtime as required

Responsibilities

  • Overseeing production: Managing the production process from start to finish.
  • Ensuring production targets and deadlines are met.
  • Monitoring production line performance and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Team management: Leading and motivating the production team.
  • Assigning tasks and responsibilities to direct reports.
  • Providing training and development opportunities.
  • Addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts.
  • Quality control: Implementing and maintaining Pero Family Farms quality control standards.
  • Inspecting products for defects and ensuring they meet Pero Family Farms specifications.
  • Identifying and resolving quality issues.
  • Problem-solving: Troubleshooting production line issues and equipment malfunctions.
  • Developing and implementing solutions to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Safety: Ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Enforcing safety regulations and procedures.
  • Conducting safety inspections and addressing hazards.
  • Inventory management: Monitoring inventory levels, ensuring sufficient materials are available, and communicating shortages.
  • Managing stock rotation (FIFO) and preventing product waste.
  • Reporting: Collecting and analyzing production data.
  • Preparing reports on production performance, quality metrics, and safety incidents.
  • Equipment maintenance: Identifying equipment repair needs, file work orders, and coordinating repairs.
  • Process improvement: Identifying opportunities to improve production processes.
  • Implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Communication: Communicating effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.
  • Providing regular updates on production status and performance.
