About The Position

The Aftermarket Mechanical Engineer provides technical engineering support for equipment and systems after installation and commissioning. This position works closely with customers, Field Service, Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Parts teams to troubleshoot equipment issues, identify replacement or obsolete components, develop upgrades and retrofits, and provide engineering solutions that improve equipment reliability, performance, and service life. The Aftermarket Mechanical Engineer serves as a technical resource for existing installed equipment and helps ensure customers receive timely, accurate, and practical solutions to their aftermarket needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of technical education and relevant manufacturing/equipment experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for installed equipment, machinery, and systems throughout the equipment lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and/or controls-related equipment issues and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
  • Review existing equipment drawings, bills of materials, specifications, manuals, and historical documentation to identify components and determine appropriate solutions.
  • Evaluate obsolete or discontinued components and identify suitable replacements or engineering alternatives.
  • Develop engineering solutions for equipment upgrades, modifications, retrofits, and performance improvements.
  • Create and revise engineering drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and technical documentation for aftermarket projects.
  • Support the preparation of technical proposals and cost estimates for replacement parts, upgrades, modifications, and engineered solutions.
  • Work closely with Aftermarket Sales and Customer Service to define customer requirements and determine the appropriate technical solution.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Purchasing, Quality, Field Service, and Engineering to ensure aftermarket projects are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Provide technical guidance to Field Service Technicians during equipment installation, troubleshooting, repair, and modification activities.
  • Review customer requests and equipment history to determine root causes of recurring equipment issues and recommend improvements.
  • Assist with resolving field quality issues and customer concerns related to equipment performance.
  • Ensure engineering changes and aftermarket modifications are properly documented.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment modifications, upgrades, replacement components, and engineering changes.
  • Communicate directly with customers as needed to clarify technical requirements, troubleshoot issues, and explain recommended solutions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to equipment reliability, maintainability, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure engineering solutions comply with applicable company standards, customer specifications, and safety requirements.
  • Support multiple aftermarket projects simultaneously while meeting established priorities and deadlines.
  • Perform other duties and engineering projects as assigned.
