About The Position

The Alumni Affairs Coordinator plans, implements, and evaluates alumni programs, events, reunions, networking opportunities, and engagement initiatives aligned with strategic goals. This role also coordinates the production of the bi-annual alumni magazine, develops and executes communication strategies to strengthen alumni connectivity, and leads transition initiatives for graduating students into the alumni community. Additionally, the coordinator serves as a liaison to the Alumni Association Executive Board, recruits and trains alumni volunteers, works with Foundation staff to maintain alumni records, and ensures consistent alumni messaging and brand alignment.

Requirements

  • Experience in planning and implementing programs and events.
  • Experience in content development, writing, editing, and managing publication production.
  • Experience in developing and executing communication strategies (newsletters, email campaigns, digital engagement).
  • Experience in leading transition initiatives or similar outreach.
  • Experience serving as a liaison or supporting executive boards/committees.
  • Experience in recruiting, training, and coordinating volunteers or mentors.
  • Experience in record management and data research.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Adaptability to changing environments and needs.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, implements, and evaluates alumni programs, events, reunions, networking opportunities, and engagement initiatives aligned with strategic goals.
  • Coordinates the production of the bi-annual alumni magazine, including content development, writing, interviews, editing, design collaboration, vendor communication, print procurement, and distribution.
  • Develops and executes communication strategies including newsletters, email campaigns, post-graduate outreach, and digital engagement efforts.
  • Leads transition initiatives for graduating students into the alumni community, including commencement-related engagement and follow-up communication.
  • Serves as liaison and ex officio member to the Alumni Association Executive Board, supporting Alumni Association committees, tracking progress toward goals, and ensuring effective collaboration.
  • Recruits, trains, and coordinates alumni volunteers and mentors to expand engagement and support opportunities.
  • Works closely with Foundation staff to identify and cultivate accurate and comprehensive alumni records, including researching and documenting achievements, class notes, obituaries, giving capacity, and identifying data trends or discrepancies.
  • Ensures consistent alumni messaging and brand alignment across all communications and outreach efforts.
  • Develops and maintains standard operating procedures, manages multiple concurrent projects, and adapts to changing alumni environments and needs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
