About The Position

Gravitics is seeking a highly skilled welder to join their team and build primary structures for spaceflight systems. This role involves hands-on precision aluminum welding, forming, fitting, and working with robotic/automated welding systems. The welder will fabricate mission-critical structures, inspect weld quality, collaborate with engineering on problem-solving, and ensure all welds meet the highest standards. Responsibilities include operating mechanized welding systems, fabricating tooling, handling raw materials, and supporting shop operations in a fast-paced environment where quality and safety are paramount.

Requirements

5+ years of Class A TIG welding experience (or equivalent from other industry)
5+ years of fabrication and forming experience
Ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints
Familiarity with NDT processes such as X-ray and other inspection techniques
Automated or robotic welding experience
Ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Willingness to work evenings and/or weekends to support critical milestones
Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Responsibilities

Weld primary structure for human-rated space hardware
Quickly fabricate and weld tooling to support production
Inspect fabricated parts for geometry acceptance and weld conformance
Fit, form, clean parts, and set up welding equipment for production
Perform Class A quality aluminum welds
Diagnose weld defects and recommend corrective actions and process improvements
Collaborate with Engineering on tooling improvements and solving build issues
Handle raw materials and finished weldments
Use fabrication equipment such as vertical bandsaws, sanding tools, and jig tables
Work with x-ray technicians and support other NDT processes
Read engineering blueprints and follow written and verbal instructions
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area
