Dometic Marine’s facility in Sparta, TN produces roto-molded fuel and ballast tanks and other roto-molded products for industrial applications. The site manufactures marine furniture, aluminum tanks, blow-molded portable tanks, and sanitation systems. This Sparta facility also produces marine mechanical steering, controls & cables. We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Aluminum Tank Welder. This position reports to the Production Supervisor and will work in Sparta, TN. About the position As the Aluminum Tank Welder of the Sparta team, you will be responsible for fabricating, welding, finishing, and testing aluminum fuel tanks while ensuring quality and production requirements are met. This role operates welding and fabrication equipment, including TIG/MIG welders, CNC plasma tables, brake presses, grinders, and lift trucks. The position requires reading engineering drawings, using precision measuring tools, maintaining production and inventory records, identifying fabrication issues, and supporting continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 1 year of aluminum fabrication experience
  • Understanding of BOM, SOP, and Work Instructions
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of and commitment to industrial safety
  • Excellent attendance
  • Exceptional safety record
  • Good communication skills – written and verbal
  • Attention to Detail
  • Daily standing, sitting, walking, reaching, bending, and pushing / pulling.
  • Ability to work in a continuously hot environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry product that may weigh up to 25 – 60 lbs.
  • Ability to focus on detail while dealing with multiple projects at once.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate aluminum fuel tanks
  • Operate various hand powered tools, surface grinder, and band saws
  • Surface coat aluminum tanks in paint booth
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers
  • Ability to make welds using TIG and MIG
  • Read/interpret engineering prints
  • Operate CNC plasma table and brake press
  • Operate lift truck
  • Report any deviation with fabrication equipment to Supervisor
  • Report any tank fabrication issues that need of revision
  • Setup/program CNC plasma table and brake press
  • Responsible for inventory & production reports
  • Responsible for testing and quality control
  • May be assigned to perform other duties as requested
