About The Position

Hexcel is seeking an Aluminum Flexcore Operator for its Casa Grande, AZ, USA location. This role involves performing a variety of tasks related to web corrugated products, including testing, adjusting, regulating, and controlling processes on the line. The operator will maintain oven temperature, line speed, solvent drip, and adhesive vat temperature and viscosity. They will also ensure chemicals are within operating parameters, load machines with foil, charge, adjust, and clean adhesive systems, and determine material to be processed based on work instructions. The operator will adjust machine temperature, speed, and air pressures, measure and check materials for quality, and adjust machine sheet length. They will monitor processes to ensure product specifications are met, utilize SPC where required, and operate other equipment as needed. The selected individual will inspect and present products that meet or exceed specifications to internal customers.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
  • Minimum of one year experience required preferably in manufacturing.
  • Minimum of 6 months manufacturing experience in the Hexcel Casa Grande facility may substitute in lieu of one year experience.
  • Must be proficient in use of tape measure and ruler.
  • Basic working knowledge of computer data entry function required.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Eligible candidate must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Charges, adjusts, and cleans up adhesive systems.
  • Determines from M.O. material to be processed and results to be achieved.
  • Adjusts machine temperature speed and air pressures.
  • Measures and/or checks material visually or physically to determine quality of process.
  • Adjusts machine sheet length.
  • Monitors processes to ensure product is being built per WCI’s and Job Routers.
  • Utilizes SPC where required.
  • As needed is required to operate other equipment.
  • Inspects and presents to internal customers products that meet or exceed the product specifications.
