About The Position

This position is for Aluminum (6061) MIG Welders. The role involves interpreting construction, welding, and electrical drawings, setting up welding equipment, and performing welding on aluminum components. Responsibilities also include maintenance and inspection of equipment, operating electrical test equipment, and operating company vehicles safely. Previous experience in the electrical or industrial construction industry is strongly preferred.

Requirements

3-5 years welding experience to include aluminum GMAW and GTAW welding in industrial outdoor environments.
3-5 years pipefitting, rigging, ironworking, or related experience.
Familiar with medium and high voltage electrical equipment.
Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and proper use protective equipment, working at heights, etc.
TWIC Card
SE-SAFE
Must pass nuclear background check and drug screening.
Ability to pass a weld test including 6" sch 80 6061 alum, 6" sch 40 6061 alum, and 1/2 plate.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience with electrical or industrial construction industry is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Ability to work independently with minimal to no supervision.
Work effectively alongside assigned team or crafts as required.
Interpret construction, welding, and electrical drawings, and take or read measurements according to plan layout and procedures.
Determine appropriate welding equipment or method based on the requirements of the job.
Set up components for welding according to detailed specifications.
Rig, lift, set, align, and fit equipment in position according to drawings and specifications.
Weld Aluminum components in various positions (vertical, horizontal, or overhead, 6G test required).
Perform maintenance on and inspection of existing, aging equipment for defects, damage, and deterioration.
Operate electrical test equipment including Hi-Pot, Ductor, Megger.
Operate company vehicles safely and within company policy.
