About The Position

PIMCO is seeking an Alternatives Sales Senior Associate to support our Alternatives Account Managers (AMs) in business development and investor relations for PIMCO’s alternative investment products. This role requires strong attention to detail, an entrepreneurial spirit, and proactive problem-solving skills. The primary responsibility is to assist Alternatives AMs in executing strategic campaigns and fundraising for alternative strategies. The role serves as a subject matter expert for US Global Wealth Management (GWM) Field Sales, Internal Sales AMs, and Account Associates (AAs). Key functions include servicing existing alternative investment clients, educating advisors, and supporting new business initiatives. The position requires interaction with senior leadership across GWM, Portfolio Management (PM), Product Strategy Group (PSG), Legal & Compliance, operations, and offshore client-facing teams. Additional tasks include preparing for meetings, drafting briefing memos, managing CRM queries, maintaining pipeline and business reporting, responding to questionnaires, and undertaking special projects. This role demands a self-starter who can effectively support Alternatives AMs and contribute to the growth of PIMCO’s alternative investment products.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required, preferably in Business/Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or Accounting.
  • Candidates actively pursuing a CFA or CAIA designation will be given favorable consideration.
  • Current Senior Associate at PIMCO.
  • 2–6 years of professional experience in the investment management industry preferred.
  • Candidates must possess Series 7 and 63 licenses.
  • A strong interest in alternative strategies and a demonstrable track record of success in fundraising for PIMCO’s alternative products.
  • Established and strong relationships across PIMCO’s Internal and Field Sales teams.
  • The ability to thrive in a challenging, fast-paced, and professional environment with frequent shifts in priorities as dictated by business needs.
  • Exceptional talent for both analyzing and communicating data using tools such as Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.

Responsibilities

  • Become a subject matter expert on PIMCO’s alternative products to effectively address client and prospect inquiries.
  • Build strong relationships with internal partners, including Field and Internal Sales, PSG, Marketing, Legal & Compliance, becoming a trusted partner.
  • Assist with business development efforts by helping to manage key relationships, both internally and externally.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to client service by responding promptly and with urgency to both internal and external requests.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy in all tasks while adhering to tight deadlines.
  • Develop and implement consistent, repeatable processes to enhance confidence in analysis and operational efficiency.
  • Use effective time management skills to ensure quality and attention to detail, ensuring that all work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Foster a sense of teamwork, assisting others when needed or required.
  • Maintain and enhance relationships with key vendors such as iCapital, CAIS, and +Subscribe.
  • Query, analyze, and maintain business information reports to support internal reporting needs.
  • Effectively utilize advanced tools including Excel (spreadsheets and macros), PowerPoint, CRM, and external databases for various special projects.
