About The Position

The Hawaii State Department of Education is committed to hiring highly qualified teachers in every classroom. This position is for an Alternative Learning Teacher at Moanalua High School, serving grades 9-12. If hired without completing a Teacher's Education Program, there is a maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license, requiring enrollment in a program to continue employment. Active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements must be demonstrated annually. The enrolled program must align with the hired teaching line. A valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit is required upon hire.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (minimum qualification for teacher positions, excluding designated CTE positions).
  • Upon hire, must have a valid Hawaii teaching license or Emergency Hire Permit.
  • If hired without a completed Teacher's Education Program, must enroll in a program and have a maximum of 3 years to obtain a valid Hawaii teaching license.
  • Must satisfactorily demonstrate active pursuit towards meeting Hawaii licensing requirements each year of employment.
  • Ensure the enrolled program aligns with the teaching line.
