About The Position

This managerial role is part of the Private Markets Fund Administration Department within State Street’s Alternative Investment Services Group. The Alternative Investment Solutions Loans Unit (ALU) handles critical, time-sensitive controls, executions, and decisions across investment operations, including investment books of records, trade execution, settlements, lifecycle events, corporate action processing, and cash and position reconciliation. The Senior Associate manages day-to-day delivery of services to several large fund managers and supports client relationships and the administration of client-sponsored investment funds. The position includes managerial oversight as well as hands-on service delivery and interaction with professionals and stakeholders internally and externally. The successful candidate helps deliver services to clients across regions and service functions, manages workflows and deadlines, supports implementation of a new Global Operating Model for Private Credit, and develops relationships with clients, vendors, and internal development teams. The role also involves maintaining reconciliations, coordinating with internal teams, improving processes through technology, reviewing or preparing client correspondence, participating in projects, and identifying and escalating unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity in accordance with company policies.

Requirements

Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a business-related area, with a minimum 2.2 honors degree.
At least 2 years of experience at management level.
In-depth knowledge of operational management of private and syndicated loans, notes, and private bonds.
In-depth knowledge of trade intake, settlements, lifecycle events, and complex restructures.
IT literacy.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong analytical skills.

Nice To Haves

ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or CPA qualification or part qualification.
Strong knowledge of Geneva for the product set in scope.

Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality services to clients across regions and service functions, working with senior management and other client service teams.
Manage internal workflow and client deadlines.
Assist senior management with implementation of a new Global Operating Model within Private Credit.
Manage and develop relationships with clients, vendors, and internal development teams.
Help ensure the team meets deadlines and delivers daily processes.

Create and maintain cash and position reconciliations, delivering complete reconciliations to internal fund accounting teams and clients as needed.
Create efficiencies through technological enhancements and development.
Review and/or prepare client-related correspondence.
Participate in ad hoc projects based on client needs or internal process changes.
Identify unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity and report or escalate it in accordance with corporate policy and relevant operating procedures.
