Requirements

• Ability to read English and understand instruction by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a tailoring operation or industrial sewing environment, with exposure to a variety of garment styles and types of fabrics, is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conducting alterations, resizing and restyling of all merchandise retailed in Neiman Marcus stores.
• Assisting fitters in achieving their goals with professional assistance with fit, alterability, and structural quality of apparel merchandise.
• Alter constructed garments to meet the standard of quality set by Neiman Marcus equal or better than original construction.
• Alter seams vented or unvented, take in shoulder blades, reduce chest, narrow shoulders.
• Rotate sleeves, shorten sleeves.
• Shorten back, shorten collar, and square shoulders.
• Shorten coat, re-line coat, or remake inside or outside pockets.
• Operate and maintain all sewing equipment.
• Self-inspect completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
• Complete alterations assigned tasks, as assigned by Supervisor/Lead.
• Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written and oral form.
• Complete tasks assigned by Manager, Supervisor, or Lead.
