About The Position

This position is responsible for the management of all yards receiving processes to ensure the safe, humane handling of livestock while providing accurate counts and identification including ante-mortem inspection. The individual will also have comprehensive knowledge of the live scale process. The role involves working with FSIS inspectors, Livestock Producers, Livestock Haulers, Livestock Handlers, Maintenance, Procurement, and Plant Operations. The individual must work closely with other Yards and Operations management teams in achieving objectives.

Requirements

• Livestock experience required
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to communicate efficiently with Livestock Haulers and other Team Members
• Highly motivated in running a successful business
• Basic computer skills required (managing spreadsheets and email)
• Comprehensive knowledge and familiarity with use of the Live Scale
• Willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation

Nice To Haves

• BS degree in Animal Science or Agriculture preferred
• Swine or cattle experience preferred
