About The Position

United Concrete Products is hiring an experienced Heavy Forklift Operator to support daily operations at our facility. This is a hands-on, outdoor role that requires operating high-capacity forklifts ranging from 36,000 to 55,000 lbs. You will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, managing yard inventory, and assisting with general labor in the shop as needed. A dedicated spotter will be assigned to assist during lifting and transport operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating forklifts with a capacity of 36,000 lbs or greater
  • Valid forklift operator certification
  • Proven experience loading and unloading commercial trucks
  • Working knowledge of load charts, weight distribution, and safe rigging practices
  • Ability to perform physical labor including lifting, bending, and carrying up to 50 lbs
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions year-round
  • Strong situational awareness and commitment to safety at all times
  • Dependable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
  • Basic understanding of hand signals and two-way radio communication
  • Must pass a drug test and background check

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a precast concrete, construction materials, or heavy industrial setting is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate heavy-capacity forklifts (36,000–55,000 lbs) throughout the facility and yard
  • Load and unload flatbed trucks and other delivery vehicles
  • Transport, stack, and organize materials in yard storage areas
  • Work in coordination with an assigned spotter during all major lifts and movements
  • Assist with general labor tasks in the shop when forklift duties are not required
  • Perform daily pre-operation equipment inspections and document findings
  • Monitor forklift performance and report any mechanical issues to maintenance
  • Ensure all materials are stored safely and in accordance with weight capacity limits
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment
  • Follow all OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and standard operating procedures
  • Communicate with supervisors, truck drivers, and yard personnel to ensure smooth workflow
  • Assist with inventory tracking and material counts as needed
