About The Position

SMX is seeking a Mid-Level All-Source Analyst to support USSOUTHCOM efforts in countering narcotic (CN) and counter-transnational organized crime (CTOC) operations. The role involves analyzing threat networks, cross-border criminal activity, and regional dynamics in the Western Hemisphere to identify, track, and dismantle transnational criminal organizations (TCOs) and narcotics trafficking networks. The team utilizes publicly available information (PAI), non-traditional intelligence gathering, and exploitation methods, including commercial subscriptions, social media, financial transactions, and open-sourced geospatial data, to provide insights for countering drug trafficking and transnational organized crime. This position requires a DoD TS/SCI security clearance.

Requirements

  • TS/SCI clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in intelligence, criminal justice, international relations, or a related field
  • Demonstrated understanding of threat network analysis and network development
  • Strong understanding of law enforcement intelligence frameworks, targeting processes, and regulatory environments (e.g., Title 10/50/18/21 authorities)
  • Excellent writing, briefing, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with intelligence analysis tools and databases (e.g., Palantir, Analyst Notebook, TAC, etc.)
  • Proven expertise in Latin America regional dynamics, cross-border smuggling methods, and TCO tactics
  • Demonstrated experience working with interagency and joint task forces supporting border security or counterdrug operations
  • US citizenship for work on DoD contracts

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in all-source intelligence analysis, with at least 1 year focused on CN/CTOC issues
  • Experience utilizing analysis toolsets including but not limited to: Analyst Notebook
  • Experience with PAI or All Source analytic principals
  • Experience with search techniques, information databases, data visualization, and related tools
  • Knowledge of other intelligence disciplines, including signals intelligence (SIGINT), human intelligence (HUMINT), Measurement and Signature Intelligence (MASINT), Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT)

Responsibilities

  • Research, author, and disseminate intelligence products in accordance with the latest ODNI Intelligence Community Directive (ICD-203).
  • Collaborate with senior analysts, interagency partners, law enforcement, and Partner Nations to facilitate information sharing, identify collection opportunities, and support USSOUTHCOM Commander’s Priority Intelligence Requirements.
  • Coordinate across USSOUTHCOM elements to present analytic findings to senior leaders, interagency partners, and Partner Nation counterparts.
  • Analyze industry, market, and government-provided data to identify threat networks.
  • Support fusion of HUMINT, SIGINT, GEOINT, OSINT, and FININT into intelligence products.
  • Conduct all-source analysis on networks such as Transnational Criminal Organizations, Foreign Terrorist Organizations, and Violent Extremist Organizations designated by the USSOUTHCOM Commander.
  • Assist in campaign and mission briefings, High-Value Individual (HVI) analysis, nodal mapping, and ISR planning.
  • Provide input aligned with government intelligence objectives.
  • Prepare threat network intelligence products and contribute to targeting packages.
  • Conduct nodal and network analysis and document/media exploitation.
  • Develop and deliver intelligence findings at tactical and operational levels.
  • Support production related to threat awareness, force protection, and indications and warnings.
  • Participate in secure meetings, VTCs, and interagency engagements; report findings in written and verbal formats.
  • Contribute to investigations through analysis, deconfliction, and target development.
