About The Position

This placement opportunity is designed for an 'All-Around Rooms Candidate' and includes training across various departments within the Rooms Division. The program begins with a comprehensive orientation to the company and local community, covering business strategies, payroll, local resources, and company systems. This is followed by hands-on experience and training in Housekeeping Supervision, Front Desk Agent duties, and Front Desk Supervisor responsibilities. The duration of the program is approximately 9 months, with the orientation phase lasting up to one month and running concurrently with the initial training.

Requirements

  • Enrolled in a post-secondary ministerially recognized academic institution in the hospitality industry OR
  • Hospitality degree and at least 1 year of recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside of the USA) OR
  • 5 years recent relevant work experience in the (ultra) luxury hotel industry (outside the USA).

Responsibilities

  • Receive orientation to the company and local community, including learning about customers, culture, business strategies, payroll, local training areas, housing, transportation, key contacts, and computer systems.
  • Receive orientation to the local community, including cultural centers, volunteer opportunities, local sporting events, and entertainment venues.
  • Inspect guest rooms and public spaces to ensure compliance with all standards.
  • Assist in scheduling room, turndown, mini-bar, and linen attendants.
  • Provide training, coaching, and counseling for better performance.
  • Supervise the performance of all team members.
  • Produce schedules for employees in accordance with staffing guides/productivity requirements.
  • Review and adjust staffing daily to ensure optimum staffing levels.
  • Review assignments of employees and make adjustments.
  • Manage administrative functions in accordance with established standards.
  • Evaluate, coach, counsel, and provide leadership support.
  • Learn the front desk computer system.
  • Execute check-in and check-out procedures.
  • Promote the Preferred Guest Program.
  • Perform cashier responsibilities, including maintaining a house bank, making deposits, and accurate reporting of receipts.
  • Handle group arrivals procedures, guest room assignment and control.
  • Implement walk-in procedures.
  • Manage hourly house counts.
  • Execute sell-out controls.
  • Manage room key controls.
  • Utilize room up-selling techniques.
  • Resolve guest concerns.
