About The Position

Software is central to Formlabs' product development, bridging the gap between digital models and physical 3D prints. As an intern on the software team, you will contribute to software released to customers, focusing on improving UI experience and solving complex problems involving 3D geometric algorithms. This role offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge new product lines and develop high-performance software at the intersection of mathematics and science.

Requirements

Interest in developing high-performance software at the intersection of mathematics and science.
Comfortable tackling complex problems in unfamiliar domains and reading papers to understand the state-of-the-art.
Interest in image processing and geometry algorithms, parallel computing, and related mathematics.
Experience in developing and optimizing low-level software (C++ experience is a plus).

Responsibilities

Develop novel and performant algorithms in modern C++ for laser path planning, physics modeling, computational geometry, and 3D rendering.
Optimize and improve existing code for performance.
Contribute to cutting-edge new product lines.
Engage in cross-platform (Win, Mac) desktop application development using C++17 and Qt.
Design and implement well-structured code with a focus on maintainability, reusability, and testing.
Work in an agile, product-focused environment.
