About The Position

Develop logic and automation to support Applied Materials’ service business growth and data-driven decision-making. Apply machine learning (ML) and large language models (LLMs) with advanced mathematical and statistical methods to solve complex, correlated problems. We are looking for a curious, creative, detail-oriented, and eager to learn new graduate student to work closely with experienced engineers to explore real-world semiconductor equipment data, develop analytical logic and applications for broader adoption.

Requirements

  • Strong proficiency in Python programming, with demonstrated experience in machine learning and LLM technologies. Experience of applying Python to real-world applications is a plus.
  • Solid analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Familiarity with databases and data modeling concepts.
  • Understanding of statistical concepts. Knowledge of semiconductor equipment or manufacturing is a plus
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or related STEM fields.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience of applying Python to real-world applications is a plus.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor equipment or manufacturing is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Analyzing parts performance to develop accurate analysis and forecasting.
  • Developing end-to-end workflow automation to convert manual projects to a digital product. Build a user-friendly interface and create useful visualizations, summary tables, and automated reports.
  • Leverage ML algorithms and LLMs to improve benchmarking and uncover actionable opportunities.
  • Validate outputs against known data and engineering expectations.
  • Propose enhancements to logic, workflow, and application functions.
  • Provide ideas for how the prototype application can be integrated into future production systems.
  • Build knowledge base, enable service innovation and support intelligent fab outcomes.
