This position may provide direct nursing care to residents and supervises the day-to-day nursing activities performed by certified nursing assistants and caregivers in accordance with current federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines and established facility policies and procedures. The role involves rendering professional nursing care for the care, comfort, and well-being of residents in an Assisted Living Facility (ALF). The nurse manager is responsible for managing, supervising, leading, and assisting admission teams, and directly assuring admissions and census goals. This role also involves building and fostering relationships with hospitals, Hospice, Home Health, and various community organizations and industries within the senior community. The position provides 'Limited Nursing Services' as described in WAC 388-78A-265, follows a nursing model to promote holistic care, and maintains appropriate nursing documentation. Responsibilities include accounting for narcotics, checking medication deliveries, participating in resident admissions, discharges, and transfers, assessing resident status changes, transcribing physician orders, administering medications, providing nursing leadership to caregiving staff, assisting with pharmacy follow-ups, destroying non-narcotic medications, assisting with medication returns, checking medication carts and reordering narcotics, checking and reordering insulin and eye drops, processing daily physician orders, performing rounds, collaborating with the interdisciplinary team, participating in management team meetings, reporting incidents, participating in end-of-life care, ensuring adequate supplies, promoting teamwork, and participating in survey processes and infection control.
