About The Position

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. is seeking an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CSC-AD, CAC-AD, LMSW/LCSW, or LGPC/LCPC) to join the medical department at the Baltimore County Detention Center in Towson, MD. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with normal business hours of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is currently being offered.

Requirements

  • Must be certified as an Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (LADC, CSC-AD, or CAC-AD) and/or Licensed Clinician (LMSW/LCSW or LGPC/LCPC).
  • Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or other related Human Services degree with a concentration in mental health course work.
  • Minimum one (1) year clinical experience preferred.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to function independently and demonstrating clinical competency.
  • Ability to gain trust of patients and build a working relationship.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical monitoring, coordinating, and implementing of the MAT in accordance with NCCHC/ACA Standards and PCM policies and procedures.
  • Serving as a MAT liaison between the medical unit and facility staff.
  • Engaging inmates/patients in therapeutic interventions to address substance abuse related concerns.
  • Actively assisting with the detection and prevention of inmate/patient suicide.
  • Assessing and documenting treatment responses of inmates/patients.
  • Facilitating group and individual sessions with inmates/patients in the MAT.
  • Assisting with discharge planning for inmates/patients on the MAT caseload or collaborating with inmate services staff regarding discharge planning.
  • Facilitating/participating in interdisciplinary team meetings and/or case consultations with staff across disciplines.
  • Being a member of the Quality Assurance Committee and sub-committees.
  • Assisting in the establishment of Quality Assurance standards and audit criteria.
  • Serving as a member of various committees within the medical unit and facility as necessary.
  • Developing and conducting in-service education programs according to the annual in-service calendar.
  • Maintaining confidentiality at all times.
  • Submitting a copy of professional license and other credentialing information to the corporate office.
  • Performing any other duties and responsibilities as assigned and delegated.

  • MDSSL accrues at a rate of one (1) hour for every thirty (30) hours of straight time worked, for a maximum annual accrual of sixty-four (64) hours.
