About The Position

This role focuses on providing support and guidance to young people facing challenges related to substance use, mental health, and/or houselessness. The specialist will act as a mentor, advocate, and guide, building genuine connections and empowering youth to navigate complex systems and access resources. The position involves leading group sessions, recreational activities, and individual support meetings, as well as maintaining accurate records. The ideal candidate will have lived experience with substance use, a compassionate and reliable nature, and a commitment to continuous learning and equity.

Requirements

• Lived experience with substance use (having been in successful recovery for a minimum of one year.)
• Peer Support Specialist (PSS) credential or willingness to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• CADC-R and ability to obtain CADC-1 within one year of hire
• Valid driver's license, access to an automobile, and active auto insurance.
• A person in this position must be able to perform with or without accommodation the essential functions of this job including any physical requirements associated with this role.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

• Maintain accurate and timely records, ensuring that our programs have the data they need to thrive and continue serving those who need it most.
