About The Position

LanguageLine Solutions is hiring an Albanian Video-Phone Interpreter to work from home. This role involves using your Albanian and English language skills to bridge communication gaps for limited-English speakers and the Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing across various industries including healthcare, 911, education, government, and business. The company provides industry-leading training, opportunities for advancement, and operates in a certified ASTM and ISO environment. You will be supported by a Senior Language Specialist and Help Desks.

Requirements

Fluency in Albanian and English and skilled in the associated cultural dynamics.
Ability to provide cultural competency and assess regional and accent differences.
Excellent listening, retention and note-taking skills.
Ability to concentrate, stay detached from the conversation, remain neutral and objective at all times, and remain on calls that involve sensitive subjects.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Must have work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to adapt to any LLS technology enhancements.
Dedicated personal device for business purposes.
Desktop / Laptop Computers with Windows, MacOS, or ChromeOS.
Tablets (iPadOS or Android) are acceptable.
Smartphones (iOS or Android) are also acceptable.
High speed Internet connection with download speeds of no less than 5 Mbps, upload speeds of 3 Mbps, Ping value of no more than 300 ms, Jitter value of no more than 30 ms.
Must have access to a quiet space free from background noise or distraction.
Must be able to operate a keyboard and mouse and remain in a stationary position in front of a computer and webcam the majority of the workday.
Must use a headset for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to operate company provided software and systems.
Must have sufficient manual dexterity to type or write.
Able to lift up to 26 lbs.
May be exposed to moderate noise levels.

Nice To Haves

Education or work experience in language-related fields such as teaching, language assessment, translation or interpretation preferred.
Ability to read and write the requested languages – highly preferred.
Candidates who are currently employed by a client of LanguageLine Solutions or an affiliated LanguageLine Solutions business may not be eligible for consideration.
Based on your location, a post-offer, a pre-employment background check and/or drug screen may be required.

Responsibilities

Handle calls on demand and render the meaning of conversations between Albanian and English speakers.
Break communication barriers in industries such as Healthcare, Government, Insurance, Financial, Utilities, Travel & Hospitality, General Business, Law Enforcement, Court, and 911.
Process information quickly and concisely, recognizing sensitive cultural differences.
Maintain professionalism and courtesy at all times, using appropriate terminology and understanding common industry procedures.
Perform video and audio interpreting sessions involving simple or complex, technical or non-technical subjects.
Respond to video and audio interpreting sessions promptly and conduct interpretation in a friendly and professional manner.
Participate in online, video and audio training sessions.
Deliver interpretation services via video and expediently type data on a dedicated device.
Render correct concepts and meanings according to established interpretation protocol, avoiding omissions or additions.
Speak clearly in both languages using proper pronunciation, enunciation and polite expressions.
Maintain a professional demeanor throughout video and audio interpreting sessions.
Remain calm during interpreting sessions, especially in emergency situations.
Maintain punctuality and availability during scheduled work hours.
Follow client instructions and protocol to ensure client expectations are met.
Understand protocol and terminology for various industries including Medical, Insurance, Finance and Law.
Demonstrate commitment to cultural sensitivity and working in a diverse environment.
Provide company-standard service within a dynamic environment, which may include highly emotional or stressful calls, extended call durations, or high call volumes.
