About The Position

IK Systems is seeking a Technician to deliver best-in-class installation and service for critical security and life safety systems. This role involves hands-on experience with low voltage security systems and a passion for solving technical challenges. The position is full-time and located in Newburg, MD. The technician will be responsible for installing and servicing large-scale, networked low-voltage security systems, including access control, surveillance, intrusion detection, and structured cabling. They will also support integrated solutions such as life safety, audio-visual, building automation, and endpoint security. Collaboration with project teams to ensure timely and high-standard system delivery, as well as troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of systems to meet customer needs, are key aspects of the role. The technician will represent IK Systems as a trusted partner on-site and build strong customer relationships. Work performed in Charles County, Maryland, requires a Charles County Restricted Master Electrician License or eligibility to obtain one, which covers low voltage alarm and security system installation. Reciprocity may apply for equivalent licenses from other Maryland jurisdictions. A current Certificate of Insurance is necessary to maintain active license status. Willingness to travel nationally (<100%) is required until further notice.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in low-voltage installation and service
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality and efficiency
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel (<100% nationally) until further notice
  • Must hold, or be eligible to obtain, a Charles County Restricted Master Electrician License (or equivalent from another Maryland jurisdiction for reciprocity)
  • A current Certificate of Insurance is required to maintain active license status
