About The Position

This role involves learning and participating in all aspects of the fire alarm trade. The apprentice will assist technicians with the installation, service, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems and related equipment in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. Key activities include pulling wire, mounting back boxes, terminating devices, climbing ladders, reading blueprints, and using various tools and equipment.

Requirements

• Basic Math and Reading skills.
• Understand and follow basic Safety procedures.
• Minimum education of High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• No experience required; training will be provided.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform laborious and strenuous work for extended hours, including overtime up to 20 hours per week, if necessary.
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs or more.
• Ability to work in heights for wiring and installation (using harness, scaffold, or lift equipment).
• Good communication skills.
• Sense of pride, integrity, and organizational ability.
• Must enjoy working independently and outdoors.

Nice To Haves

• Labor experience preferred.
• Inclement weather experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Learn by paying attention and participating in all aspects of the fire alarm trade.
• Assist technician with installation, service, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems and related equipment.
• Assist technician with installation of fire alarm systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
• Learn and use project drawings to accurately interpret installation requirements and layout.
• Learn to pull wire, mount back boxes, terminate devices, climb ladders, read blueprints, layout, keep work area clean, and use appropriate equipment for specific jobs.
• Other duties as assigned.
