About The Position
Shambaugh & Son is looking for a Fire Protection Alarm Design Assistant on a part time basis. This position is responsible for assisting in the design and project management of fire alarm systems, layouts, and construction. We are one of the largest mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors in Indiana and among the preeminent specialty contractors in the nation. We specialize in a full range of new and retrofit construction for industrial, food processing, commercial, institutional, healthcare, pharmaceutical, and bio-fuel projects.
Requirements
- Working toward a Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred, or alarm, electrical, or construction experience.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and mathematical aptitude, with attention to detail
- Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and layout of Fire Alarm systems in 2D and 3D modeling softwares.
- Read, analyze and interpret contract documents, construction drawings, and specifications of alarm and other trade disciplines.
- Work with and comprehend mathematical and electrical concepts, including project cost analysis.
- Other duties assigned.
