About The Position

KBR's National Security Solutions team provides high-end engineering and advanced technology solutions to customers in the intelligence and national security communities. In this position, your work will have a profound impact on the country’s most critical role – protecting our national security. KBR seeks an Airworthiness Support Engineer to perform activities associated with system safety requirements, planning, integration, design review, airworthiness assessment, and technical risk management for multi-domain systems, and recommend solutions. The Subject Matter Expert will also be responsible for development and management of system hazard analyses and risk assessments, initiating, supervising, and/or developing requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs, providing strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff, and performing detailed analysis, evaluation and recommendations for improvements, optimization development, and/or maintenance efforts for client-specific or mission critical challenges/issues. The role involves consulting with clients to define needs or problems, supervising studies and leading surveys to collect and analyze data to provide advice, and performing activities associated with system safety requirements, planning, integration, design review, airworthiness assessment, and technical risk management for multi-domain systems, and recommending solutions.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in relevant field
  • 15+ years' experience working on Air Force platforms
  • Technical & regulatory experience in achieving airworthiness certification
  • Familiarization with and fulfillment of requirements in AFI 62-601 (USAF Airworthiness Certification), DoDI 5030.61 (DoD Airworthiness Policy), and MIL-STD-882E (System Safety)
  • System configuration management experience
  • Current/active Top Secret/SCI
  • Current or recent DoD SAP access
  • Subject to a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph

Responsibilities

  • Development and management of system hazard analyses and risk assessments
  • Initiate, supervise, and/or develop requirements from a project's inception to conclusion for complex to extremely complex programs
  • Provide strategic advice, technical guidance and expertise to program and project staff
