About The Position

The City of Fresno is seeking an Airports Systems Technician to join their team. This role is the first line of defense for system outages or impacts, responsible for troubleshooting issues and restoring service. The incumbent will perform skilled work in monitoring, installing, altering, maintaining, and repairing various control systems and electrical equipment within the City of Fresno Airports Department. This includes Baggage Handling System (BHS) Controls, Domestic Water Controls, Energy Management Control Systems, Storm Water Control Systems, Autoclave Controls, access control system-managed electronic door and gate hardware, and Passenger Boarding Bridge Controls. The position also involves supporting and maintaining field-level hardware components of the Airport’s Security Systems in coordination with the Information Services Department (ISD). The department currently has one vacancy, and future vacancies will be filled from this eligible list for a period of three months, with the possibility of extension.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of experience working with any combination of mechanical/conveyor systems, energy management controls, security system hardware components, people moving systems and controls or related systems.
  • Possession of a valid California's Driver's License required at time of appointment.
  • Ability to pass a TSA-mandated Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and Security Threat Assessment (STA).
  • Successful completion of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 10-year employment history verification, which includes a criminal history records check.
  • Successful completion of a Department of Justice fingerprint prior to employment.

  • Monitor, install, alter, maintain, and repair Autoclave Controls.
  • Monitor, install, alter, maintain, and repair access control system-managed electronic door and gate hardware.
  • Monitor, install, alter, maintain, and repair Passenger Boarding Bridge Controls.
  • Monitor, install, alter, maintain, and repair a variety of other electrical equipment within the City of Fresno Airports Department.
  • Support and maintain field-level hardware components of the Airport’s Security Systems in coordination with the Information Services Department (ISD).
