About The Position

The City of Fresno is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Airports team as Airports Public Safety Agent I. In this key role, you will help ensure the safety, security, and smooth operation of our airport facilities while providing exceptional service to the traveling public.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • One (1) year of military experience or substantial amount of public contact experience.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at time of appointment.
  • Possession and continue maintenance of a valid California Driver’s License.
  • Possession of a valid First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certificate must be obtained within the probationary period.
  • Successful completion of a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 10-year employment history verification, which includes a criminal history records check.
  • Successful completion of a Department interview.
  • Successful completion of an extensive background investigation.
  • Successful completion of a Department of Justice fingerprint process.

  • Depending on assignment, may require bilingual skills to meet departmental needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide directions and customer service to travelers.
  • Monitor and enforce curbside and vehicle regulations.
  • Direct traffic flow and escort pedestrians safely.
  • Check badges, vehicle permits, and conduct inspections.
  • Report hazards, unsafe conditions, and suspicious activity.
  • Operate radios, phones, and communication equipment.
  • Assist in coordinating emergency and non-emergency incidents.
  • Prepare clear and accurate reports and records.
  • Support dispatch and access control operations.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
