As an Airport Traffic Control Officer in Honolulu, HI, you will serve and safeguard the airport, its facilities, travelers, directing and managing flow of traffic, enforcing security protocols and procedures helping to deter security-related incidents and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for all visitors and staff. Your presence and routine patrols will support a secure environment while you provide outstanding customer service and clear communication. Requirements
- Be at least 20 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to use computers - basic computer knowledge.
- Ability to pass a background check.
- Ability to pass a drug screen.
- Ability to pass a physical exam.
- Valid Drivers License (for driving positions only).
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to lift more than 20 lbs is preferred.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- A guard card/license is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
- Respond to incidents, disturbances, unattended property concerns, and other critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while communicating with site contacts and public agency personnel as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols throughout terminals, public access areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
- Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorized entry when required, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and/or policy violations according to site procedures.
- Prepare clear, timely reports of daily activities, incidents, and observations, and assist with directional support and general information for the public at this government transportation location.
