This position is within the Aviation Department and is responsible for driving shuttle buses to safely transport employees, the traveling public, and baggage between the airport terminal and parking facilities. The role requires courteous interaction with passengers and representing the Airport in a positive, professional manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and at least 1 year of professional driving experience, or no diploma/GED and 2 years of professional driving experience.
  • Valid CLD Class A or B with Passenger Endorsement
  • Skill in dealing courteously with the public and representing the airport in a positive, professional manner.
  • Ability to speak English clearly enough to be understood over the radio and by passengers.
  • Ability to safely drive any of the shuttle bus models, including 35-foot Diesel, Electric and/or Hybrid Buses.
  • Ability to follow oral and/or written instructions.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 2 years passenger transportation experience
  • Customer Service experience

Responsibilities

  • Drive passengers and their baggage between the airport terminal and parking facilities.
  • Drive for tours, special events and during irregular operations.
  • Recognize driving safety hazards and use appropriate precautions based on Federal, State and Local guidelines.
  • Follow the directions of the Shuttle Bus Dispatchers, Bus Operations Supervisors and/or Landside Managers.
  • Use a 2-way radio to communicate location, emergencies and ask for assistance.
  • Provide information about the airport to the public and assist travelers with ground transportation matters.
  • Complete related paperwork such as vehicle inspection reports and vehicle work orders.
  • Perform light cleaning inside bus (e.g., clean windows, empty trash, sweep).
  • Under some circumstances, assist passengers with baggage.
  • Assist passengers in boarding or exiting the vehicle as necessary, including operation of wheelchair lift and wheelchair restraints.
  • Other duties as assigned.
