About The Position

Lödige is a supplier of material handling systems. We are seeking an Airport Service Technician to maintain our automated cargo handling system at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport. The position includes mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, as well as interventions on programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and control software (software training will be provided). The system operates 24/7; therefore, the successful candidate must be available to work a rotating schedule including evenings, nights, and weekends. The primary responsibilities will be based at Montréal-Trudeau International Airport.

Requirements

  • Engineering background with a minimum of 4 years of experience in the maintenance of industrial and/or mechanical systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • No criminal record and willingness to undergo a background check, as a Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) or other airport security clearance may be required to access the system.

Nice To Haves

  • French language proficiency is strongly preferred to effectively communicate with clients, contractors, and airport personnel.
  • Licence C – Corporation des maîtres électriciens du Québec (CMEQ) or qualification as an industrial electrician recognized in Quebec.
  • Certificate of Qualification (Millwright / Industrial Mechanic) issued or recognized in Quebec (Emploi-Québec / applicable authority).
  • Technical expertise related to automation and industrial control systems.
  • Experience with PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation.
  • Knowledge of automated cargo handling systems or automated parking systems is considered an asset, but is not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and inspection of components (sensors, motors, drive belts, etc.), as well as repair or replacement of parts as needed.
  • Respond to malfunctions as they occur, perform corrective maintenance, and restore system operation as quickly as possible.
  • Understand system operation and effectively diagnose problems to support the client's operations team.
  • Complete work orders and write detailed reports on interventions performed.
  • Contact the company's technical support center, located in Germany and available 24/7 in English.
  • As required, participate in the installation of new projects or perform maintenance on other material handling systems elsewhere in Canada.
  • Completing all mandatory health, safety, and environment (HSE) training.
  • Participating in health and safety activities, including incident investigations, audits, and assessments.
  • Reporting any situation that could lead to an accident or injury and stopping work when necessary.
