Job Description As a Airport Security Officer in Kahului, HI , you’ll play a vital role in maintaining the safety and security of all passengers, staff, and airport facilities. Your role involves conducting routine patrols, engaging with the public, and delivering exceptional customer service through clear communication. Premium paid shall be based on the position actually worked by the employee. Job Schedule: Day Time Mon 05:30 AM - 02:00 PM Tue 05:30 AM - 02:00 PM

Requirements

Valid Driver's License
21+ years of age
Have ability to pass a background check, drug screening, and physical exam
Ability to obtain AOA badge (Federal Background Check in ordinance with DOT requirements)
Be at least 21 years of age for unarmed roles; 22+ years of age for armed roles.
Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to visitors and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a government-operated airport location.
Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation, documenting events, and notifying appropriate personnel.
Conduct regular and random patrols of terminals, curbside areas, parking areas, and perimeter routes to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or policy violations.
Working environments and conditions may vary by site location.
Monitor access points and restricted areas by observing pedestrian and vehicle traffic, verifying credentials and/or authorizations as directed, and reporting suspicious activity or hazards.
Complete required reports such as shift logs, incident documentation, and patrol activity records, and communicate relevant updates to site leadership and public agency partners.
