Project Site Inspector
About The Position
Naples Airport Authority is seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Airport Project Site Inspector to oversee construction activities across the airfield and airport facilities. This full-time position involves conducting daily inspections of airport construction projects to ensure contractor compliance with FAA, FDOT, and airport engineering standards. The role also includes monitoring Construction Safety and Phasing Plan (CSPP) elements, verifying grades, elevations, and tolerances, and reviewing materials, test reports, and as-built documents. The inspector will prepare inspection reports, document deficiencies, coordinate with various stakeholders, and support NOTAM coordination and airfield closures.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in construction management, civil engineering, engineering technology, construction engineering, or a closely related field, and one (1) year of relevant construction, engineering, inspection, project coordination, or field experience.
- Five (5) years of progressively responsible construction, engineering, inspection, or field experience related to civil, airfield, transportation, utility, building, or public works projects.
- An equivalent combination of education, training, and directly related experience may be considered, provided the candidate demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the essential functions of the position.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, specifications, codes, and technical documents.
- Ability to document field observations and inspection findings.
- Ability to use standard computer software and inspection-related technology.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work collaboratively with contractors, consultants, staff, and other project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Conduct daily inspections of airport construction projects.
