About The Position

Under direct supervision of the Airport Operations management team, this position is responsible for maintaining constant awareness of changing conditions, activities, and requirements affecting airport operations. Maximizes safety and security with minimal disruption to airport operations. This includes implementing tactical pre-planned incident management processes to ensure effective resolution for small to large scale incidents. Works rotating shifts in a 24x7 operation including nights, weekends, and holidays and is subject to emergency re-call as part of routine duties.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • 4 Airport operations or aviation related experience related to operating procedures on the airfield, communication, and safety.
  • 2 years of Supervisory Experience
  • Maintain Security Identification Display Area Clearance (SIDA)
  • Valid Drivers License
  • Obtain and maintain position appropriate NIMS & emergency training
  • ASOS Basic and Advanced
  • Ability to obtain and maintain position appropriate Federal security clearance
  • This position requires driving on the airfield and airfield ramps.
  • Airport safety and security regulations and ability to apply them to conduct safety and security inspections and investigations.
  • Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) airport certification, airport or airline security program, recurring airport or airline disaster, emergency exercises, and the monitoring and coordination of airport construction and maintenance operations.
  • Airport operations, to include navigational and unusual airport operating characteristics.
  • Operational techniques with the ability to analyze data and information and make reports to management team.
  • Airport operations, policies and procedures.
  • Reading and interpreting pre-construction plans.
  • Applicable federal, state, and local requirements regarding airport operations (TSA, FAA, and others).
  • Storm Water Pollution Protection (SWPP) Program.
  • Incident Command System (ICS)
  • The ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve operational issues.
  • Acting decisively under high-pressure situations.
  • Clearly and effectively communicating in an emergency situation.
  • Using a computer and modern office suite software, with emphasis on security access control systems and weather monitoring systems.
  • Maintaining high standards of quality in all aspects of the operation.
  • Maintaining collaborative and respectful relationships with internal and external colleagues, peers, work teams and workgroups.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors daily airport operations. Responds to and documents emergency, critical, or other events occurring at CVG.
  • Acts as incident commander (IC) during defined incident response/contingency plans. Participates in Emergency Operations Center (EOC) processes as assigned.
  • Continually monitors changing conditions affecting airport operations and follows pre-planned incident management processes as required to minimize impacts.
  • Provides logistical support to other CVG AA Departments.
  • Ensures proper use of CVG AA’s Notification Systems and sends notifications as required.
  • Ensures daily briefings and operational shift reports are conducted, accurate, and submitted daily.
  • Oversees required daily inspections and documents/triages discrepancies and non-complying conditions concerning Part 139, Part 1542, and Storm Water Pollution Protection (SWPP).
  • Assists in the preparation and completion of the annual FAA Safety Certification Inspection.
  • Provides snow team coverage and participates in CVG’s Snow and Ice Control Plan as directed.
  • Coordinates all airport operational activities within airfield, terminal, and landside environments.
  • Reviews and adheres to plans and procedures (SOPs) and communicates these to the airlines, tenants, and other key stakeholders.
  • Coordinates special events, VIPs, and charter operations as directed.
  • Serves as a member of KCAB’s Covered Entity and is responsible for complying with the privacy and security requirements of PHI under HIPPA.
  • Ensures the Department has proper shift coverage and provides shift coverage as required.
  • Provides excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supervises, delegates, and trains department employees during shift, ensuring all activities are performed accurately and efficiently. Provides ongoing support and coaching.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature and level as assigned.
