About The Position

The Airport Operations Controller II controls aircraft parking and movement, enforces regulations and operates radio communications to maintain safety and operational efficiency in airport ground operations areas. This role also involves maintaining logs and records, preparing reports, and tabulating aircraft revenue landings. Work is subject to periodic review for adherence to instructions and the correctness of decisions in situations requiring tact and forcefulness. Other related duties are assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates the ability to meet and deal effectively with people.
  • Two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates the ability to understand and apply various rules and regulations.
  • Two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates the ability to prepare reports.
  • Two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates the ability to act effectively in emergencies.
  • One (1) year work experience in airport ground operation control work which includes assignment and control of aircraft parking positions.
  • One (1) year work experience in airport ground operation control work which includes direction and control of the movement of aircraft and vehicles on the ramp.
  • One (1) year work experience in airport ground operation control work which includes inspection of runways, airfields and aircraft parking ramps.
  • One (1) year work experience in airport ground operation control work which includes enforcement of aircraft and vehicular operational rules and regulations.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
  • Must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions within the preceding ten years.
  • Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
