About The Position

This is the entry-level trainee position in the Airport Operations Controller series. The Airport Operations Controller I receives on-the-job training in airport ground operations control work. This involves participating in orientation and formal training sessions, studying operating policies and procedures, carrying out specified instructions, and working with higher-level personnel.

Requirements

  • Two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates the ability to meet and deal effectively with people.
  • Two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates the ability to understand and apply various rules and regulations.
  • Two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates the ability to prepare reports.
  • Two (2) years of work experience which demonstrates the ability to act effectively in emergencies.
  • Possess a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
  • Must undergo a pre-employment fingerprint-based criminal history record check and be found free of disqualifying convictions within the preceding ten years.
  • Must be a citizen, national, or permanent resident alien of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
