About The Position

Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, Airport Maintenance Technicians perform regular maintenance of Airport assets and other tasks assigned to them with a high priority for workplace safety. Essential Functions Performs hangar and building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing and HVAC troubleshooting and repairs. Performs preventative maintenance as scheduled on gates, hangar doors, and other applications. Operates all equipment related to the maintenance and repairs of airport infrastructure to include, but not limited to pavements, building systems, lighting, signs, markings, and gates. Performs all tasks related to the repair and maintenance of Addison Airport facilities. Responds to, prioritizes, and completes work orders utilizing computerized work order system Performs required daily inspection on weekends/holidays, when on call and when needed. Responds when on call to all Alert 3 aircraft accidents Provides On-call rotation for after-hour repairs and emergencies. Communicates with Air Traffic Control Tower (ATC) as needed to access movement areas. Performs welding/structural repairs as assigned/needed. Airport Maintenance Technician II Under supervision, assists in inspections and repairs of airfield lighting, including the entire lighting system from regulators to changing bulbs. Performs hangar door maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of doors Performs maintenance on small mowers, trimmers, blowers, and other small equipment. Uses a variety of hand and power tools as related to the repair and maintenance of the airport. Performs airfield mowing and general lawn maintenance. Assists in the repair of ramps and apron pavements. Performs snow and ice removal as needed. Picks up Foreign Object Debris (FOD) while on the airfield. Monitors surroundings when out on the airfield and reports issues as observed. Operates sweeper truck cleaning all airport pavements. May be asked to perform additional job duties that are directly, indirectly, or completely unrelated to normal job functions in the course of presenting certain Town special events. Performs related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Four (4) years of experience maintaining and repairing facilities and/or airfield assets
  • Valid Texas Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to obtain Airport Movement Area certification within two (2) weeks of hire.
  • Clear Criminal Background check and pre-employment drug screen.
  • Knowledge of work safety practices, procedures, and protocols.
  • Knowledge of applicable local, State, and Federal laws, codes, regulations, and ordinances.
  • Knowledge of materials, tools, and equipment used in utility system repair and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of the English language.
  • Knowledge of basic computer software including Outlook, Word, Excel, and other Town applications.
  • Skilled in interacting tactfully and professionally with the public.
  • Skilled in working safely with hand and power tools and equipment.
  • Ability to establish and effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing (ATC requirements).
