About The Position

The City of Lee’s Summit is a thriving, progressive community southeast of downtown Kansas City, known for its quality of life, growing business community, award-winning school system, and national accreditations for its public services. The city boasts a vibrant arts and culture scene, a historic downtown district, and numerous outdoor recreational opportunities. The Airport Attendant position, under the direct supervision of the Assistant Airport Manager, involves performing semiskilled work including fueling, towing, and servicing aircraft, handling sales and concierge transactions, providing customer service, and conducting airport maintenance functions such as inspections of grounds, facilities, and vehicles, foreign object debris (FOD) removal, mowing, and snow removal.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age
Valid state driver’s license and acceptable driving record required
Exceptional customer service, time management and communication skills
Skills in the use of common airport equipment such as aircraft tug, aircraft tow bars, fuel truck, stationary fueling equipment and ground power unit (GPU)
Ability to learn specialized aviation terminology, procedures and practices to operate in a restricted environment involving active runways, taxiways and aprons
Ability to work safely in an airport environment
