About The Position

The Airline Security Representative/ Trainer is a security matter expert in policies, conducting threat and vulnerability assessments, as well as identifying weaknesses within the corporate security program realm. The Airline Security Representative will also facilitate training for all flight crew personnel and ensure compliance with government regulations, corporate policies and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Aviation security experience in either airline operations under 14 CFR part 121 or equivalent government or military service.
  • U.S. Citizenship and an active Secret security clearance.
  • Practical knowledge of and experience with eAPP, NBIS, NISS, and DISS.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and people skills. You should be able to build high-trust partnerships with management and others within the security structure.
  • Self-starter able to take initiative within a fast paced, agile environment. Ability to effectively manage ambiguity and multi-task on a variety of initiatives.
  • Previous experience as an Aviation Security Officer, Screener, or Law Enforcement Officer
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the airline industry security procedures and the ability to implement Federal Aviation and Security regulations.
  • Must be able to be on call 24/7.
  • Valid US Passport required
  • Strong technical knowledge of aircraft performance, navigation, weather, and Federal Air Regulations.
  • Monitor and understand meteorological conditions that may adversely affect the safety of the flight and relay information to the crew and managers.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Training Methodologies (TSA Security Trainer, Master Training Specialist, Security Forces Trainer, Master Resilience Trainer, etc.)

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate classroom studies for flight crew personnel using instruction techniques or formats (e.g., role playing, simulations, team exercises, group discussions, videos, lectures) focusing on security regulations and compliance.
  • Develop curriculum and update training materials based on the latest security threats, industry standards, regulatory changes, and Homeland Security regulations.
  • Maintain accurate training records and staff readiness
  • Security matter expert in policies, identifying weaknesses, conducting threat assessments and vulnerability assessments
  • Provide training and guidance to facility staff on security procedures, reporting, and best practices.
  • Liaison with government agencies, contractors, and other security personnel regarding facility security issues.
  • Ensure the proper classification, safeguarding, and destruction of classified information in accordance with relevant policies.
  • Stay up to date with security trends, emerging threats, and regulatory changes to ensure the facility's security program remains compliant and robust.
  • Perform duties as the Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) with responsibility for managing the day-to-day operations of a facility security program, ensuring compliance with government regulations, corporate policies, and industry best practices.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
