About The Position

The Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Technician III is a senior-level aircraft maintenance professional responsible for leading complex maintenance activities, major repairs, troubleshooting efforts, and return-to-service operations. This position serves as a technical subject matter expert, providing guidance and mentorship to technicians while ensuring compliance with FAA regulations, approved technical data, and Company quality and safety standards.

Requirements

  • FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required.
  • 5+ years of aircraft maintenance experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex maintenance projects and troubleshooting activities.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain airport driving privileges
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including overtime, weekends, holidays, and varying shifts.
  • A&P Technicians are required to provide and maintain a complete set of personal aircraft maintenance tools necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Expert-level understanding of aircraft systems, heavy maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Extensive knowledge of FAA regulations, Repair Station Manuals, quality systems, Airworthiness Directives, and engineering authorizations.
  • Knowledge of maintenance planning, workflow coordination, and production control processes.
  • Advanced understanding of root cause analysis and reliability concepts.
  • Lead complex maintenance activities, major repairs, and aircraft modification projects.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and fault isolation.
  • Oversee heavy checks, modifications, and return-to-service activities.
  • Train and mentor technicians across multiple skill levels.
  • Review maintenance documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Quality Assurance, customers, and FAA representatives.
  • Support audits, regulatory inspections, and shift operations.
  • Exercise sound technical and regulatory judgment.
  • Lead teams effectively in high-pressure operational environments.
  • Make independent maintenance decisions within authorized limits.
  • Resolve complex technical and personnel-related issues.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and quality standards are maintained.
  • Manage multiple priorities while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Proficient with maintenance tracking systems, electronic work packages, and Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Graduation from an FAA-approved Aviation Maintenance Technician School (AMTS) preferred.
  • Previous heavy maintenance, MRO, airline, military, or commercial aviation experience preferred.
  • Documented fleet specific formal training courses such as 40-hour General Familiarization courses or ATA 104 level 1, 2, 3, or 4 courses preferred.
  • Documented fleet specific engine run and taxi training and qualifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex aircraft maintenance, repair, modification, and return-to-service activities.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting and fault isolation of aircraft systems and components.
  • Oversee heavy maintenance checks, and aircraft modification projects.
  • Interpret and apply maintenance manuals, engineering authorizations, repair specifications, and regulatory requirements.
  • Review maintenance records and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Production, customers, and regulatory representatives.
  • Use technical specifications; AMMs, RSMs, CMMs, REOs
  • Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to technicians across multiple skill levels.
  • Support audits, regulatory inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist with workflow coordination, production planning, and shift operations.
  • Maintain compliance with Company policies, FAA regulations, OSHA requirements, and quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
