This is a full-time position responsible for working on airfield lighting for runways, taxiways, ramps, and automatic gates at all authority-owned airports. The role involves installing, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing all electrical equipment, reading and understanding wiring diagrams, and conducting regular inspections. The technician must comply with FAA standards and advisory circulars, maintain accurate monthly inspection records for NAV aids, and adhere to all safety regulations while keeping a clean working environment. Responsibilities also include maintaining records of maintenance and repairs, operating snow and ice removal equipment, and applying chemicals. Class “A” Maintenance Technicians assist Master Maintenance Technicians and are expected to perform duties of lower-level technicians and custodians when needed. They must also gain intermediate skill in at least one additional craft (painting, carpentry, automotive mechanic, air conditioning, electrical, mill right, diesel mechanic, heating, or heavy equipment operation) within one year of hire. A valid driver’s license is required, and eligibility for the “on-call” schedule is optional but requires a one-year commitment.
