About The Position

We are seeking a licensed Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AME or MRA). This position will begin with a three-month paid training program leading to a CH-147 type certification. The technician will receive on-site support from the current L3Harris MAS Petawawa Site Lead and will work under the official accreditation of our primary client, Boeing. The Mechanical Technician is responsible for performing mechanical work as well as other complex inspection and maintenance tasks to prepare aircraft for flight or for customer acceptance.

Requirements

  • The Technician shall have the capability to complete, sign and perform Maintenance Release Authority (MRA), conducted in accordance with the restrictions within the Buyer’s Maintenance Process Manual (MPM)
  • The Technician shall follow the established Main Operating Base (MOB) tool control processes when checking out, using, and returning tools
  • The Technician shall be trained, qualified, and authorized in accordance with Buyer’s Maintenance Process Manual (MPM) to meet the requirements and ensure ongoing AMO Accreditation is maintained
  • College diploma in pre-flight mechanics or an equivalent military or Transport Canada qualification
  • Bilingualism
  • Dynamic and innovative, and motivated by technical challenges
  • Well-organized, autonomous, with strong analytical abilities
  • Must be eligible for registration to the Controlled Goods Program
  • Must be eligible to obtaining and maintaining the government of Canada’s “Reliability” status and Level 2 (Secret) security clearance.

  • Experience on the Chinook helicopter (an asset)

Responsibilities

  • Routine servicing requirements for aircraft assigned to or augmented by the CMT
  • Scheduled (Preventive) maintenance requirements up to, and including, the CMS 3 (200 hour) and CMS 4 (400 hour) inspections for aircraft assigned to the CMT
  • Unscheduled (Corrective) maintenance requirements and troubleshooting for aircraft assigned to the CMT
  • Emergent work, including Special Inspections (SIs), modifications, Out of Sequence Inspections (OSIs), Non-Standard Repairs (NSRs), deferred defects and other non-routine requirements for aircraft assigned to the CMT on agreement between the Squadron Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Officer (SAMEO) (or designate) and CFO (Contractor Field Office) Manager (or designate)
  • Create, maintain, and update maintenance records within the Defense Resource Management Information System (DRMIS). DND shall provide training, mentoring and access (terminal / log-in)
  • Tear down, assessment, preparation for use, and repair of off aircraft components that affect the CMT’s assigned aircraft
  • Any other related tasks as requested by the customer.
