About The Position

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is looking for an Aircraft Sustainment / Liaison Engineer to support line maintenance and heavy maintenance depot operations at US Air Force bases. This role involves providing technical dispositions and guidance for aircraft issues, including structural damage, and assisting with aircraft system troubleshooting.

Requirements

BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering
Two plus (2+) years in specific technical discipline
Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Self-motivated, conscientious and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manuals (AMM, IPC, CMM)
Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to meet internal customer's needs
Ability to pass a Tier 1 (minimum) Investigation for work on Department of Defense contracts.

Nice To Haves

Aircraft/airline/MRO or aviation engineering experience desired
Existing security clearance is preferred

Responsibilities

Providing technical dispositions and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs.
Performing structural analysis to substantiate repairs.
Providing work deviation authorization and interpretation of service documents & Technical Orders.
Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact.
Providing aircraft system troubleshooting assistance.
Attending regular production meetings to ensure timely support.
Providing on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged aircraft as required.
Coordinating events/issues with USAF Program Office for additional action, troubleshooting and follow-up.
Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action.
Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplements to eliminate repetitive Engineering Technical Assistance Requests (ETARs).
Authoring policies and processes to ensure general compliance with FAA regulations.
