About The Position

Assure aircraft maintenance work, materials and practices conform to FAA, customer, company and manufacturers' standards of quality. The Aircraft Structures Technician III (AST III) requires some direction and leadership training. The individual must possess a positive work attitude, excellent job performance in productivity and quality, a commitment to maintain a culture of safety, and dedication to attendance.

Requirements

  • 4 Years experience with or without an A&P License
  • Experience on at least 2 types of aircraft
  • Experience on at least 2 types of engines
  • Working knowledge of FAA regulations, their interpretation and application.
  • Must own and be skilled in the use of structures hand tools related to the responsibilities described above.
  • Ability to read precision measuring tools and instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Modify, repair, assemble, fabricate install structural components and aircraft parts.
  • Performs approved repair operations to structures including sheet metal and other structures.
  • Repairs flight control surfaces, engine cowling, and fuel cell/tank maintenance.
  • Overhauls mechanical assemblies including repairs and part replacements.
  • Documents maintenance/repair per company & FAA requirements on aircraft forms, records and workbooks.
  • Works with close tolerance dimensions and various types of fasteners using common hand tools, special instruments and pneudraulic tools.
