About The Position

Ensures the structural integrity and airworthiness of aircraft by inspecting, diagnosing, repairing, and modifying airframes, wings, fuselage, and control surfaces. Plans, lays out, fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs both internal and external aircraft structures and surfaces in accordance with technical manuals, engineering drawings, and FAA regulations. Disassembles existing aircraft structure for modification install and structural inspections. Interpret technical manuals and engineering drawings for the proper tools, fasteners, location and methods of installation to meet required specification.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years of documented experience in aircraft structural installation, modification, troubleshooting and repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret aircraft technical orders, drawings, and blueprints.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to schedule job tasks to meet completion timeline.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain in force a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be a citizen of the United States of America.
  • Must be able to pass a stringent background investigation.
  • Must be able to utilize computer-based systems to perform duties.
  • Must be able to work Independently and safely.
  • Must be willing/able to work any shift or schedule.
  • High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of aircraft mechanical experience.
  • Ability to utilize computer-based systems to perform duties.
  • Must be willing/able to work any shift or schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy C-130 structural modification/inspection experience preferred.
  • Some travel possible, up to 25%

Responsibilities

  • Document detailed records of maintenance and repair work performed.
  • Maintain training currency.
  • Lay out, locate, fit, trim, assemble, and install parts assemblies and skins where dimensions are critical and fitting is to exacting tolerance.
  • Drill, countersink and rivet exterior skin panels where skin quality is critical. Works from all types of complex blueprints, E.O.'s and production illustrations.
  • Complete inspection of existing aircraft structures.
  • Complete any or all structural rework/repair, squawks, and E.O.'s.
  • May be required to work in confined space.
  • Fabricate detail parts from blueprint or engineering instructions.
  • Perform aircraft inventory, acceptance, and inspections.
  • Drive company vehicle.
  • Operate ground support equipment required to perform daily job functions.
